Big Bend Volunteer Fair set for May 13 at Sul Ross State University

Leadership Big Bend will host the Big Bend Volunteer Fair on May 13 at Sul Ross State University, offering residents a chance to connect with nonprofit organizations and community groups across the region.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the university’s University Center and is open to the public. Organizers say the fair is designed to bring together volunteers and organizations serving the tri-county area, with a focus on strengthening community ties through service.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about local nonprofits, explore volunteer opportunities and sign up to support causes ranging from education and public service to community development.

The fair will also provide space for organizations to host informational tables and recruit volunteers. Sign-up options are available for both participating groups and individuals interested in volunteering.

Sponsors for the event include Big Bend Telephone Co., West Texas National Bank and Region 18 Education Service Center.

Organizers encourage community members to attend, meet local leaders and find ways to get involved in efforts that support and improve the Big Bend region.
