A multi-agency search effort led to the rescue of a missing rancher in rural Presidio County, authorities said.
Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol’s Marfa Station, working alongside Texas Department of Public Safety pilots, located the man after tracking him for several miles across remote terrain, according to a statement from the Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector.
Officials said agents provided emergency medical care at the scene before helping reunite the rancher with his family. The extent of his condition was not immediately disclosed.
The operation highlights coordination between federal and state agencies in remote areas of West Texas, where vast distances and rugged conditions can complicate search and rescue efforts.
No additional details about the circumstances of the rancher’s disappearance were released.
