Armed individuals intercepted and robbed two drivers of their pickup trucks Tuesday along a highway between Aldama and Ojinaga, prompting a law enforcement response, according to local reports.
The incident occurred in the afternoon on the roadway connecting Aldama to Ojinaga, near the Chorreras area and close to a National Guard base. Authorities were alerted after two victims reported being stopped by armed suspects on the highway.
State police units responded and interviewed one of the victims, who said he was driving his pickup truck when he was forced to pull over by the assailants. The suspects ordered him out of the vehicle and made him detach a trailer he was using to transport cattle, the report said.
During the operation, officers also located a second victim, described as a Mennonite man, who reported a similar encounter with the suspects.
Authorities conducted searches along nearby rural roads but did not locate the stolen vehicles, according to the report. No arrests have been announced.
The investigation remains ongoing.
