Marfa High School athlete Ayden Alvarez claimed the area championship in shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 9 inches, according to a post shared by Marfa Shorthorns.
Alvarez’s performance secured the top spot at the area meet and highlighted a strong showing in field events for the program. He also won the district title in discus, adding to his list of accomplishments this season.
The milestone reflects continued success for Marfa’s track and field team as it advances to the next level of competition.
