Students with Youth Leadership Fort Stockton will host a community car wash fundraiser April 24 at Rooney Park, offering free washes in exchange for donations to support local scholarships.
The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Organizers say all proceeds will go directly toward scholarships for participating students and future youth leadership initiatives.
The car wash comes as the community prepares for increased activity tied to the Big Bend Open Road Race, with organizers encouraging residents and visitors to stop by and get their vehicles cleaned while supporting a local cause.
“Every dollar raised goes directly toward scholarships for our local youth,” organizers said in promotional materials. “Your donation isn’t just for a clean car—it’s an investment in the future leaders of Fort Stockton.”
The fundraiser is donation-based, and no set price is required for a wash. Community members are invited to attend, meet the students involved and contribute to the program’s ongoing efforts to develop leadership skills among local youth.
