Jeff Davis County commissioners are scheduled to consider an offer from Barnard Construction to reconstruct Chispa Road at no cost to the county during their April 14 meeting.
According to the agenda, the proposed work would cover the stretch from FM 2017 to the Jeff Davis County and Presidio County line. The item is listed for discussion and possible action.
The offer is tied to Barnard Construction’s involvement in border wall-related projects in the region. The company has made similar proposals in neighboring Presidio County as part of its infrastructure efforts connected to that work.
Commissioners are expected to weigh the terms and implications of accepting the reconstruction as a gift before taking any action.
