The Alpine High School tennis program turned in a strong showing at the district tournament, highlighted by a girls team championship and multiple regional qualifiers across varsity and junior varsity divisions.
In varsity girls singles, Megan Struthers captured first place to advance as a regional qualifier, while Andynne Ramirez finished second, also qualifying for regionals.
Alpine added another regional berth in varsity mixed doubles, where Elizabeth Marta and JP Prieto placed second. In varsity girls doubles, Mariana Palazuelos and Vianney Santos also earned second place and a trip to regionals.
The junior varsity girls doubles division saw Alpine dominate the podium. Athena Villanueva and Carolyn Newman took first place, followed by Isabel Villanueva and Audreanna Lara in second, and Lucille Fraser and Jaden Miller in third.
In junior varsity girls singles, Leah Struthers earned a second-place finish. Thaddeus Prieto and Ryan Hinojos added a second-place finish in junior varsity boys doubles.
Alpine’s overall performance secured the girls team district championship, capping a successful tournament for the Bucks tennis program.
