The Presidio Volunteer Fire Department recently provided equipment and gear to the Ojinaga Municipal Fire Department, supporting emergency response efforts across the border.
In a statement, Presidio volunteers said the donation included much-needed resources used in firefighting and emergency operations. The department described the effort as an opportunity to assist their counterparts in Ojinaga and strengthen cross-border cooperation.
“These resources are essential for emergency response, and we are always willing to lend a hand whenever possible,” the department said.
The donation reflects ongoing collaboration between the neighboring communities of Presidio and Ojinaga, which frequently work together on public safety and emergency response in the region.
Officials also expressed appreciation for firefighters broadly, noting the challenges departments face with limited resources.
“Thank you to firefighters everywhere who continue to do so much with so little,” the statement said. “Your dedication does not go unnoticed.”
The message was shared in both English and Spanish, underscoring the close ties between the two border communities.
