Authorities in Ojinaga arrested two people, including a 17-year-old, following a vehicle pursuit that ended with the seizure of suspected cocaine, according to a statement from state officials.
The arrests were carried out by the Chihuahua State Public Security Secretariat in coordination with the Mexican Army as part of ongoing crime prevention efforts in the city.
Officials said the incident occurred around midday April 4, when officers observed a gray Mercedes-Benz. The occupants allegedly accelerated and drove erratically upon noticing police, prompting a pursuit through city streets.
The chase ended in the Porfirio Ornelas neighborhood, where officers intercepted the vehicle. Authorities said both individuals resisted and allegedly assaulted officers verbally and physically before being taken into custody.
During a search of the vehicle, officers reported finding three packages containing a substance with characteristics consistent with cocaine.
The suspects, along with the vehicle and the seized substance, were turned over to the state prosecutor’s office for further investigation.
State officials said the operation reflects continued efforts to remove individuals who threaten public safety.
