Alpine to host 14th annual Desert Sky Quilters show April 18

The Desert Sky Quilters of the Big Bend will host their 14th annual quilt show on Saturday, April 18, at the Sunshine House in Alpine.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 402 E. Holland Ave. Admission is free.

Organizers say the show will feature a variety of quilts on display, along with vendors and an on-site quilt shop. Participating vendors include Memories by the Yard of San Antonio, which will offer fabric sales, and Alvin’s Sewing Machine Co., which will showcase sewing machines and related services.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a featured quilt. Tickets are priced at $1 each or six for $5, with the drawing scheduled for 3 p.m. Participants do not need to be present to win.

Proceeds from quilt sales will benefit the Meals on Wheels program, and information will be available about care quilts and veterans quilt programs supported by the group.

The Desert Sky Quilters meet monthly at the Sunshine House and welcome anyone interested in quilting to attend.
