A guided hike to one of the highest points in Davis Mountains State Park is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, offering experienced hikers a strenuous trek with sweeping views of the region.
The Limpia Creek Vista Summit Hike will depart from park headquarters at 8:30 a.m. and cover approximately 7.5 miles round trip. The route leads to an elevation of about 5,700 feet, providing participants with panoramic vistas of the Davis Mountains.
Park officials say the hike is expected to take at least five hours and is geared toward experienced, acclimated hikers due to its difficulty and terrain.
Participants are advised to bring at least two liters of water, snacks or lunch, appropriate hiking footwear and optional trekking poles.
Registration is required in advance through the park’s event listings.
