Sul Ross State University will host a virtual informational session for prospective students interested in its Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program on April 1.
The session is scheduled from 5 to 6 p.m. CST and will be held via Microsoft Teams, according to the university.
Participants will receive an overview of the doctoral program, hear from faculty and learn about the cohort-based learning model. The session will also include an opportunity to ask questions about admissions, coursework and program expectations.
The Ed.D. program is designed for superintendents, principals and other school leaders, with a focus on serving communities in rural and borderland regions of Texas. University officials say the program aims to prepare experienced educators to lead school systems, address regional challenges and implement innovative leadership strategies.
Attendees will also learn about collaboration opportunities with other education professionals and the structure of the program for doctoral candidates.
The priority application deadline for the fall cohort is April 15.
Sul Ross said the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership represents the university’s first doctoral program, marking a milestone in its efforts to expand educational opportunities across the Big Bend region and beyond.
Prospective students can register for the session online, and additional information is available on the university’s website. Questions about the program may be directed to educationdoctorate@sulross.edu.
