Sul Ross Chamber Singers to present “The Evolution of Music” concert tonight in Alpine

The Sul Ross State University Chamber Singers will take audiences on a musical journey through time tonight with a performance titled “The Evolution of Music.”

The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Studio Theater inside the Francois Fine Arts Building on the Sul Ross campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program will feature the university’s Chamber Singers under the direction of conductor Andrew D. Alegría, with Lana Potts accompanying on piano. The performance is expected to highlight a range of musical styles and periods, showcasing the development of vocal music across eras.

The event is part of the university’s spring 2026 music calendar, which includes a series of student and faculty performances throughout the semester.

Community members, students and visitors are invited to attend the evening concert, which offers an opportunity to experience live choral music in an intimate campus setting.
