A free public screening of the documentary “The River and the Wall,” directed by Ben Masters, is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 1 at the Jeff Davis County Community Center.
The event will take place at 601 Cemetery Road and is open to the public.
According to event organizers, the film explores the natural landscapes and ecosystems of the U.S.-Mexico borderlands, with a focus on the Rio Grande and surrounding areas. The screening will be followed by a discussion about proposed border wall plans affecting the Big Bend region.
