Presidio Mayor John Ferguson traveled to Pecos this week to publicly thank the Pecos City Council after the town sold a used trash truck to Presidio during a time of need for the city’s sanitation department.
According to Ferguson, Presidio was facing a shortage of vehicles for its trash collection services when Pecos officials agreed to sell the truck at a price that allowed the city to acquire it without resorting to emergency fiscal measures.
The truck is now in Presidio and is expected to help the city avoid future disruptions to trash pickup services.
Ferguson was scheduled to present his remarks of gratitude during the Pecos City Council’s regular meeting Thursday evening, where the agenda included a presentation titled “Presentation of gratitude to the Town of Pecos City Council.”
“Presidio thanks you, Pecos,” Ferguson wrote in a social media post ahead of the meeting.
