Fort Stockton to Host Community Trash-Off Cleanup Event April 11

Residents are invited to help clean up the community during the 2026 Trash-Off event scheduled for April 11 at the Fort Stockton Convention Center.

The event is organized by Keep Historic Fort Stockton Beautiful in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Don’t Mess with Texas” Trash-Off, described as the largest one-day litter cleanup effort in Texas.

Volunteers will gather at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m., at the Fort Stockton Convention Center, 2181 SW IH-10 Frontage Road. Participants will fan out across the community to pick up trash and debris as part of the coordinated cleanup effort.

Organizers say the event is open to everyone, including families, students, businesses, community groups and individuals of all ages. Participants can volunteer individually or as part of a team.

Volunteer perks include Kona Ice and a free meal served from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Organizers encourage residents to register in advance using the QR code on the event flyer and say the cleanup is an opportunity for community members to work together while helping keep Fort Stockton clean and attractive.
