Archives of the Big Bend to host community history preservation roadshow March 22 in Alpine

The Archives of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University is planning a community history preservation event March 22, inviting residents to bring historic materials to be scanned and catalogued.

The Archives of the Big Bend Roadshow is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2026, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Archives of the Big Bend, located on the second floor of the Bryan Wildenthal Memorial Library, 400 N. Harrison St., Alpine, TX 79830.

Organizers said participants are encouraged to bring historic photos, artifacts and documents. Materials will be scanned and returned to owners during the event.

The roadshow is described as a communitywide history preservation day. Additional details are expected to be announced.
