Alpine Animal Services is featuring a kitten named Dino as its Pet of the Week, with a reduced adoption fee available for a limited time, according to a recent social media post from the shelter.
Officials said the adoption fee for Dino is $50, half the normal cost, and includes neuter, a feline leukemia/FIV snap test, a microchip and vaccinations. The promotion was set to end the day of the announcement.
Dino entered the shelter Jan. 28 after being found as a stray. Shelter staff describe the kitten as clean, calm and quiet, though initially shy. According to the post, Dino purrs loudly when held and enjoys being carried on a person’s shoulders.
The shelter said Dino appears interested in playing with other cats and would likely do well in a home with another pet. He also enjoys a comfortable bed and treats.
Alpine Animal Services said the kitten is looking for a home where he can feel comfortable and confident as he adjusts to a new environment.
Those interested can meet Dino at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Highway, Alpine, TX 79830.
