Border Wall Forum to Feature Film Screening and Discussion in Marfa on March 6

A community forum focused on border wall issues in the Big Bend region will take place Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. at the Crowley Theater in Marfa.

The event, titled Border Wall Forum: The River and the Wall, will include a film screening followed by a discussion examining the environmental, cultural, and community impacts of border wall construction along the Rio Grande. Organizers say the program is intended to encourage dialogue and provide information about how proposed or ongoing infrastructure projects could affect the region.

The forum will be held at the Crowley Theater, located at 98 S. Austin St., and is open to the public.

Border wall development has been a topic of ongoing debate in the Big Bend area, particularly regarding potential impacts on wildlife corridors, river access, tourism, and local communities. Events such as this forum aim to bring together residents, stakeholders, and interested visitors to share perspectives and learn more about the issue.

Community members interested in regional conservation, border policy, or public lands are encouraged to attend.
