Residents, businesses and community organizations are being invited to take part in the 2026 Trash-Off cleanup event scheduled for Friday, April 11, at the Fort Stockton Convention Center.
The event is organized by Keep Historic Fort Stockton Beautiful in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off campaign, which is billed as the largest one-day litter cleanup effort in the state.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with cleanup activities running from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet at the convention center, located at 2181 Southwest Interstate 10 Frontage Road.
Organizers say participants of all ages are welcome, including families, students, civic groups and local businesses. Volunteers will receive Kona Ice and a free meal provided from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Community leaders say the event is an opportunity not only to improve the appearance of Fort Stockton but also to bring residents together in a shared effort to care for public spaces.
Those interested in volunteering can register using the QR code provided on event materials.
