Roslyn “Malloy” Kerley, Fort Davis Native and Outdoor Enthusiast, Dies at 35

Roslyn “Malloy” Kerley, a Fort Davis native known for her love of the outdoors, creative spirit, and strong family ties, passed away Jan. 26, 2026, in Fort Davis. She was 35.

Kerley was born Nov. 30, 1990, at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland to Don and Susan Kerley. She grew up in Fort Davis and graduated from Fort Davis High School in 2009.

A talented athlete, she attended Cornell College on a golf scholarship. Friends and family remember her as someone with a strong work ethic who maintained a deep connection to both the land and her family’s agricultural roots.

Kerley worked as a landscaper for Magnolia Farms and also helped operate her family’s cotton ginning business as a sixth-generation member. In recent years, she spent summers working at Devils Tower in Wyoming, where she developed a deep appreciation for the national park landscape and community.

She enjoyed cooking, creating art, working with plants and following women’s professional soccer. Loved ones say she will be remembered for her adventurous nature, kindness and passion for the outdoors.

Kerley is survived by her parents, Don and Susan Kerley; her brother, Kyle Kerley, and sister-in-law, Brittany; her nephew, Cole; her grandmother, Rosa Leake; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life is scheduled for March 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Balmorhea Community Center in Balmorhea, Texas.
