Presidio County Commissioners Court to Consider Stonegarden Grant at Special Meeting

The Presidio County Commissioners Court will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Feb. 17, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Presidio County Courthouse in Marfa, with an option for virtual participation.

According to the posted notice, the meeting will take place in the county judge’s office on the first floor of the courthouse at 300 N. Highland Ave. Some officials may participate by videoconference, in accordance with Texas law, while a quorum will be physically present at the courthouse.

The agenda includes discussion and possible action related to the county sheriff’s submission of a fiscal year 2025 Operation Stonegarden grant application to the Office of the Governor’s Public Safety Office. Commissioners will also consider a resolution authorizing the grant for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 and designating the county judge as the authorized official.

Operation Stonegarden is a federal grant program administered through the state that provides funding to local law enforcement agencies supporting border security operations.

Additional items on the agenda include administrative updates and announcements from the county judge and commissioners before adjournment.
