The McDonald Observatory is inviting educators to apply for its 2026 Summer Teacher Workshops, with a deadline set for Feb. 18.
The program offers professional development opportunities designed to strengthen science instruction and deepen teachers’ understanding of astronomy and related fields. Hosted at the observatory in the Davis Mountains, the workshops provide hands-on experiences and access to world-class facilities.
Organizers describe the sessions as immersive and collaborative, aimed at supporting educators at all stages of their careers. Participants engage in activities that translate current research and astronomical concepts into classroom-ready lessons.
The summer workshops are part of the observatory’s broader education and outreach mission, which connects teachers and students with real-world science and exploration.
Applications for the 2026 program must be submitted by Feb. 18.
