Bread Garden Bakery to Support Alpine Public Library with “Food for Books” Fundraiser Feb. 18

Bread Garden Bakery will open late next week for a special community fundraiser benefiting the Alpine Public Library, offering a limited menu of sandwiches and donating a portion of proceeds to support local literacy programs.

The event, titled “Food for Books,” will take place Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bread Garden Bakery, located at 801 E. Holland Ave. in Alpine.

According to the bakery, the fundraiser will feature items from its special events menu, including Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and brisket or lamb sandwiches, along with arepas. Organizers say a portion of all sales during the event will be donated directly to the Alpine Public Library.

The Alpine Public Library serves as a key educational and community resource in the region, offering programming for children and adults, public computer access, and literacy support. Fundraisers such as this help supplement operational funding and expand programming opportunities for local residents.

Bread Garden Bakery encouraged community members to reserve meals in advance through its website but noted that walk-in orders will also be welcome during the event hours.

The fundraiser also includes an option for community members to donate directly to the library through a QR code provided on event materials.
