A student from Alpine High School has been selected to perform with the 2026 All-State Band sponsored by the Association of Texas Small School Bands.
Jake Vega, a member of the Alpine High School band, earned the honor following a series of competitive auditions held across the state. More than 10,000 students participated in the process, with 286 selected for all-state recognition.
The All-State Bands will rehearse in San Antonio from Feb. 11-14, 2026, and present a public concert Feb. 14 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Vega was chosen as a member of the jazz ensemble and plays B-flat clarinet. This marks his first appearance in an ATSSB All-State Band.
School officials and community members praised the achievement as a reflection of Vega’s dedication and the strength of Alpine’s music program.
