The Fort Davis Indians Boys Basketball picked up an important district victory with a 37–30 win over Big Bend in a hard-fought road game in Terlingua, Texas.
The matchup, Game No. 20 of the season, featured tight defense and steady intensity from both teams. After a close first half, Fort Davis trailed 16–13 at the break before responding with strong defensive pressure and improved execution in the second half.
The Indians gradually took control in the fourth quarter, limiting Big Bend’s scoring opportunities while converting key possessions on offense. The defensive effort proved decisive, allowing Fort Davis to secure the seven-point district win.
Justin Trussell led the team with a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hank Pearson added eight points and six rebounds, while Jesus Ramos contributed eight points and 11 rebounds. Asher Logan, Easton Giambalvo, Alan Trevizo, and J.T. Chavez also played important roles in the team’s balanced effort.
The victory improved Fort Davis’ district record and reflected the team’s continued growth late in the season. Coaches praised the players for their resilience, teamwork, and focus, especially in a challenging road environment.
With the win in Terlingua, the Indians showed their ability to compete in close games and respond under pressure. The team will look to build on this momentum as district play continues.
