The City of Presidio, Texas has announced a new partnership with BM Radio 101.7 FM to provide regular Spanish-language local news broadcasts for residents.
Under the agreement, the station will air news from Presidio from 7 to 9 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The broadcasts will focus on city updates, public announcements and community information.
City officials said the initiative is designed to improve communication with residents and ensure that more people have access to timely and reliable local news in Spanish.
The city said residents who would like to share information or request coverage may contact City Hall. Summaries of local news will also continue to be posted on the city’s official social media platforms.
Officials described the partnership as part of a broader effort to strengthen transparency and civic engagement, particularly in a community where radio remains an important source of information.
City leaders said they hope the expanded coverage will help residents stay better informed about local government, services and events.
