The updated alignments, released by the University Interscholastic League, will determine Alpine’s regular-season opponents in volleyball, basketball, and football over the next two academic years.
According to information shared by the district, Alpine’s new districts include:
Volleyball

Basketball
Alpine Anthony Kermit Presidio Tornillo
Football
Alpine Anthony Coahoma Crane San Angelo Grape Creek Stanton
District officials said the new alignments will bring a mix of familiar rivals and new matchups, giving student-athletes opportunities to compete against a broad range of West Texas programs.
In a social media post, Alpine ISD expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming seasons, saying it looks forward to seeing the Fightin’ Bucks compete “on the field and on the court” against their new district opponents.
UIL realignment is conducted every two years and is based primarily on school enrollment numbers. The process is designed to maintain competitive balance across Texas high school athletics.
The new districts will take effect beginning with the 2026–27 school year and remain in place through the end of the 2027–28 season.
