Odessa celebrates kickoff of new sports complex and Amy Bell Memorial Park

Odessa, Texas marked a major milestone this week with the official Project Kickoff Event for the new Odessa Sports Complex and Amy Bell Memorial Park, signaling the start of a major recreational investment for the community.

The celebration brought together Mayor Cal Hendrick, members of the Odessa City Council, and local leaders to formally launch the long-anticipated project.

The event opened with an invocation by Pastor Don Caywood of Odessa Christian Faith Center, followed by remarks from several key partners and officials:

Speakers highlighted the project’s importance to Odessa’s quality of life, youth development, and economic growth, emphasizing its potential to serve athletes, families, and visitors for years to come.

To conclude the ceremony, community leaders gathered on site for a symbolic moment, ceremonially throwing and kicking sports balls to represent the beginning of construction and the future of athletics in the city.

The Odessa Sports Complex and Amy Bell Memorial Park are expected to expand opportunities for soccer, basketball, baseball, and other recreational programs, positioning Odessa as a regional destination for sports and community events.
