Alpine High School unveils new “Alpine Buck” mount in front lobby

Alpine High School unveiled a new Alpine Buck mount in the school’s front lobby this week, with the project coordinated by Brewster County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Rene Ybarra and funded through donations from local businesses and community supporters.

In a post shared by Alpine ISD, district officials described the display as “a beautiful symbol of what it means to be an Alpine Buck,” and thanked sponsors who contributed toward making the project possible.

Sponsors recognized by the district include Rene, Sonia and Evelyn with Y-barra Outfitters; James Yarborough; Aaron Custer and family; Sheriff Ronny Dodson; TC and Julie Hawkins; JRP Electric; Ryan and Vanessa Kinkade; WestTX Community Credit Union; Big Bend Telecom; Phillip and Jena Carey; Ali and Kylie Maroney; Dodson Guns; and Alpine Small Animal Practice & Large Animal Service.

Alpine ISD also thanked Alpine High School Principal Luane Porter for coordinating the dedication ceremony and student council officers for assisting with the event.

“It’s another great day to be a Buck,” the district said.
