The Alpine City Council has selected Henry Arredondo to serve as the city’s new city manager, formally approving his contract during its first meeting of 2026. Arredondo fills a position that has been vacant since June 2025, when the previous city manager departed unexpectedly.
Arredondo comes to Alpine from Dilley, Texas, where he served as city administrator. He also previously held the role of city manager in Del Rio for four years, gaining experience in municipal operations, finance, and large-scale infrastructure projects, including airport improvements.
City leadership identified Arredondo as the top candidate following a hiring process involving both council members and city staff. His background in municipal management and finance were key factors in the decision.
Under the terms of his contract, Arredondo will earn an annual salary of $140,000 and receive $7,500 in relocation assistance. His first day on the job is scheduled for January 20. Until then, City Secretary Geo Calderon has continued serving as interim city manager.
