Second grade students at Fort Stockton Independent School District marked the celebration of Los Reyes Magos with a hands-on cultural lesson centered around a traditional Rosca de Reyes.
Students in Mr. Gonzales’ and Ms. Urias’ classrooms shared the festive bread as part of the Three Kings Day tradition, which is widely celebrated in many cultures. During the activity, students Idaly and Alex found the small baby figurine hidden inside the rosca—an exciting moment that sparked smiles and curiosity among classmates.
Teachers used the celebration as an opportunity to introduce students to cultural traditions and their meanings, blending learning with a fun, interactive experience. The event highlighted the importance of honoring heritage and creating inclusive classroom environments where students can learn about customs from around the world.
