CASA of West Texas to Host Volunteer Lunch and Learn in Midland

CASA of West Texas will host a Lunch and Learn event in Midland next week for community members interested in becoming advocates for children in foster care.

The informational session is scheduled for Tuesday, January 13, at 12 p.m. and will take place at 1611 W. Texas Ave. in Midland. Lunch will be provided.

The event will introduce attendees to the role of Court Appointed Special Advocates, commonly known as CASA volunteers. CASA volunteers serve as independent voices for children involved in the foster care system, helping ensure their best interests are represented in court and during key decisions about their future.

Organizers say volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and receive training before being assigned to a case. The Lunch and Learn is designed to explain the responsibilities involved, answer questions, and outline how volunteers can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life.

CASA of West Texas encourages anyone interested in supporting children in foster care to attend the event and learn more about how to get involved.
