The Alpine Bucks boys and girls powerlifting teams will begin postseason competition on Saturday morning in Monahans, launching their push toward regional qualification and a potential trip to the state meet.
Lifting is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m., with both teams competing against schools from across the region.
Coaches and supporters say the athletes have put in months of preparation and are ready to test their strength and focus on the platform.
