Local winery to see management changes, expanded plans in Big Bend region

According to Mountain Dispatch reporting, a Davis Mountains winery is preparing for a new phase of operations following a management acquisition that brings new leadership and plans for expansion in the Big Bend region.

Trueheart Brands LLC has completed a management acquisition involving Jack Rabbit Winery, which operates as Château Wright. The change places the winery under new operational direction while keeping its presence in Fort Davis and outlining long-term plans to grow its offerings.

Château Wright and the Blue Mountain Trail Vineyard have been part of the Big Bend community for years, contributing to local events and playing a role in strengthening agriculture and tourism across Jeff Davis County. The vineyard was founded by Dr. John L. Wright and has developed into a destination for both local residents and visitors to the Davis Mountains.

The operation produces wines from grape varieties such as Tempranillo, Viognier and Marsanne, which are well suited to the region’s elevation and climate. Those environmental conditions have helped position West Texas as an emerging and increasingly recognized wine-producing area.

Danny Martinez is overseeing day-to-day operations moving forward. Martinez has more than 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, including work managing businesses in Texas and Oklahoma.

Oversight of the transition is being handled by Hourglass San Antonio, a division of Trueheart Brands. Under the new management structure, the winery plans to place added emphasis on enhancing the visitor experience while gradually expanding its range of offerings.
