City of Alpine hiring Animal Services Officer

The City of Alpine is accepting applications for an Animal Services Officer I, a full-time position within the city’s Animal Services department.

The role focuses on animal care, shelter operations, and public service. Duties include patrolling and responding to calls for service, conducting investigations, maintaining shelter facilities, providing daily animal care, keeping logs and records, and assisting with playgroups and adoption events. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum qualifications include:

Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or GED Valid Texas driver’s license Ability to pass a drug test and background check Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Willingness to handle all types of animal species Ability to work occasional weekends, holidays, and take after-hours calls Professional and courteous interpersonal skills
