Aspiring astronomers can learn the basics of stargazing during Eyes on the Sky on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 7 to 8 p.m.
The program meets at the amphitheater near campsite No. 22, where park host and astronomer Mark will guide participants through the night sky using binoculars. Attendees are encouraged to bring binoculars and a red-lamp flashlight.
The event is geared toward beginners looking to better understand the stars above Far West Texas.
