Pecos Independent School District has scheduled a major capital construction project to replace the existing competition gymnasium at Pecos High School, according to project filings.
The project, listed as Pecos High School – Competition Gym Replacement (Package 5) under Project No. TABS2026006906, calls for the demolition and replacement of the current competition gym with a new facility on the high school campus at 1201 South Park Street in Pecos.
Construction is scheduled to begin January 20, 2026, with completion anticipated by July 30, 2027. The total estimated cost of the project is $53.4 million.
The new competition gym will encompass approximately 64,452 square feet and is classified as new construction.
The gym replacement is part of ongoing efforts by Pecos ISD to modernize campus infrastructure and athletic facilities.
