Alpine Animal Services has named Ritchey as its Pet of the Week, offering a reduced adoption fee through the end of the day on Sunday, Jan. 4.
From now until the promotion ends, Ritchey can be adopted for $50, half the normal adoption fee. The adoption package includes spay surgery, a feline leukemia/FIV snap test, microchipping, and all required vaccinations.
Ritchey arrived at the shelter on Dec. 10 after spending time frequenting a local bar in Alpine, where she quickly became a favorite among staff and patrons. Shelter officials said she was so well-loved that they decided to keep her “bar-given” name in her honor.
Described as exceptionally friendly, Ritchey is known for her outgoing personality and affection for people. Shelter staff say she hasn’t met a stranger yet and is always happy to spend time with anyone willing to give her attention.
“She’s one of those cats you meet once and don’t forget,” staff said. “Beautiful, social, and full of personality.”
Ritchey is currently available for adoption at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, located at 2900 Old Marathon Highway in Alpine.
Residents interested in adopting Ritchey are encouraged to visit the shelter soon, as staff expect she won’t be available for long.
