El Camino will host a pizza pop-up and open mic night at the French Co Grocer on Friday, Jan. 2, bringing together food, music, and community in the heart of Marathon.
The event is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. at the French Co Grocer, located at 206 N. Ave. D. According to event materials, the pop-up will feature pizza inspired by Mexican flavors, described as bold, spicy, and unexpected, alongside the grocer’s usual offerings of beer, wine, coffee, and other refreshments.
In addition to food, the evening will include an open mic, inviting community members to participate with music, spoken word, or other performances. The informal format is intended to encourage participation and create a relaxed, social atmosphere.
French Co Grocer has become a central gathering place in Marathon, serving not only as a grocery store but also as a community hub. The locally owned business offers fresh produce, deli items, organic meats, gluten-free foods, beer and wine, coffee and tea, and camping supplies, reflecting the needs of both residents and visitors.
El Camino’s pop-up is the latest example of small, collaborative events that have become increasingly common in Marathon, where businesses often partner to create shared experiences that bring people together outside of traditional venues.
The event is open to the public.
