The Ojinaga municipal government issued a public statement expressing solidarity with the families of four local security officers reported missing, as state authorities continue efforts to locate them and clarify the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
In a message released through official channels, municipal officials described the officers as dedicated public servants, praising their commitment, courage and loyalty in carrying out their duties to protect public safety.
“On behalf of the municipal government and the families of Ojinaga, we extend our solidarity, closeness and support to the families of the four security personnel reported as missing,” the statement said. “They are officers of great value and unquestionable loyalty in their service.”
According to reporting by El Heraldo de Chihuahua, the officers were part of the mayor’s security detail and were intercepted while traveling along the highway between Ojinaga and Aldama as the mayor was en route to a regional security meeting. State prosecutors have confirmed that multiple armed individuals were involved and that the officers were taken against their will.
The Chihuahua State Attorney General’s Office has said search operations were launched immediately following the incident, with multiple agencies involved in efforts to locate the missing officers and identify those responsible.
Municipal officials said they have full confidence in state and federal authorities and emphasized unity during what they described as a moment of uncertainty for the community.
“It is now that unity represents our greatest source of strength,” the statement read. “Let us remain united.”
Authorities have not released the identities of the missing officers, and no additional details regarding their condition have been made public.
