Texas artist and storyteller Mike Capron will take the stage at The Rendezvous in Fort Davis on Friday, Dec. 20, for an evening of stories, conversation, and live music centered on a lifetime of “Ridin’, Ropin’ & Paintin’.”
The event begins at 5 p.m. and will feature Capron sharing personal stories alongside a few friends, reflecting on his experiences in ranching, rodeo culture, and visual art. The evening will continue with a live concert by Doug Moreland.
Born in Ottawa, Kansas, Capron developed a love for riding and roping early in life, but his passion for art ran just as deep. After being drafted in 1965, Capron found a lasting creative outlet in pen-and-ink sketching, drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Harold von Schmidt and Norman Rockwell. His work blends Western history, lived experience, and quiet observation, making him a familiar and respected figure in Texas art and storytelling circles.
The event will be held at The Rendezvous, located at 105 W. 2nd Street in Fort Davis, a venue known for combining live music, food, and community gatherings in the heart of town.
The Rendezvous recently expanded its offerings and continues to host live music and cultural events throughout the year.
