Former Alpine Cowboys broadcaster Roen Elbert is taking the next step in his baseball career after signing with two Northwoods League organizations — the Mankato MoonDogs and the Mankato Habaneros.
Elbert, an O6 alumnus who spent his 2024 season calling games for the Alpine Cowboys, becomes the latest talent from the Pecos League franchise to advance into one of the nation’s most established summer collegiate leagues. His work in Alpine earned praise from players, fans, and team staff for his accurate play-calling, on-air energy, and strong connection with the local community.
The Northwoods League, founded in 1994, is widely regarded as a high-level proving ground for players and baseball personnel aiming for professional careers.
