Mexican Consulate in Presidio Opens Applications for “Sello M,” a Distinction Honoring Authentic Mexican Cuisine Abroad

The Consulate of Mexico in Presidio has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 edition of the “Sello M, Distinctive of Mexican Gastronomy,” an official recognition awarded by the Mexican Academy of Gastronomy and Mexico’s Secretariat of Foreign Affairs.

The application window runs from November 17 through December 16, 2025.

The program aims to highlight and promote restaurants abroad that preserve and showcase authentic Mexican culinary traditions. Through its global network of embassies and consulates, the Mexican government invites food establishments to apply for this distinction.

Eligible businesses include:

Restaurants Mobile food businesses (food trucks) Temporary or pop-up gastronomic ventures

Selected recipients will receive the “Sello M” certification, signaling excellence in authentic Mexican cuisine to diners and communities in the United States and other countries.

Restaurants and food entrepreneurs can review requirements and apply at http://www.sellom.com.mx.

The consulate encouraged local and regional establishments to participate, emphasizing the importance of preserving and celebrating Mexico’s culinary heritage around the world.
