La Kiva Restaurant & Bar is putting its signature Big Bend twist on Thanksgiving this year with a special “Caves-Giving Takeaway” dinner, blending bold regional flavors with traditional holiday comfort food.
The legendary cave bar and restaurant on FM 170 will be closed Thanksgiving Day to allow its team to spend time with family, but locals and visitors can still enjoy a full La Kiva feast to go.
The menu features:
Smoked mole butter half turkey Chorizo nopale cornbread dressing Loaded mashed potatoes with house gravy Hominy corn pudding Poblano cranberry sauce Pumpkin tres leches cake
Each meal feeds six “big eaters” and costs $222 total ($37 per person). Orders can be placed by emailing bigrockrecreation@gmail.com, with pickup available at La Kiva by noon on Thanksgiving Day.
In announcing the special, La Kiva wrote, “We’re putting our own twist on classic turkey dinner and focusing on regional flavors. As always, everything is prepared from scratch in-house — and we assure you, it will slap.”
