The Fort Stockton Independent School District is stepping up to help local families during the ongoing government shutdown by organizing a Community Food Drive this week.
The district is collecting non-perishable food items Wednesday through Friday at all FSISD campuses during business hours. All donations will be distributed to local food banks to help keep shelves stocked and ensure families continue to have access to essential nutrition.
“This is a time for our community to come together and help one another,” the district said. “Even a small contribution can make a big difference for families facing uncertainty.”
Residents are encouraged to drop off items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and other shelf-stable foods.
