Traveling César Chávez exhibit on display at Jeff Davis County Library

A new exhibit honoring César Chávez, the nationally recognized labor and civil rights leader, is now open at the Jeff Davis County Library.

The display, In His Own Words: The Life and Work of César Chávez, will remain on view through Oct. 10. Organized by Humanities Texas and supported locally by the Friends of the Jeff Davis County Library, the exhibition includes 22 photographs paired with autobiographical reflections from Chávez’s life.

The collection explores his upbringing, the influences that shaped his commitment to social justice, and his decades of advocacy for farmworkers’ rights. It also reflects on Chávez’s philosophy of dignity, equality, and fairness in labor practices.

The exhibition is available to the public at no cost during regular library hours. The Jeff Davis County Library is located at 100 Memorial Square in Fort Davis. For details, call 432-426-3802.
