Seventy residents have enrolled to receive free trees through the Big Bend Conservation Alliance’s EPA-funded project, Everything’s Connected in Presidio.
Residents learned about the program during information sessions at the American Legion in Presidio and signed up for the first phase of residential tree plantings, scheduled for this fall. A second round of signups is expected in early 2026, with more plantings planned for the spring.
The project is being carried out in partnership with Cactus Liquors, which is serving as the wholesale tree supplier. The American Legion provided space for the sessions.
