Alpine High School’s photography team has acquired a Canon EOS R6 Mark II mirrorless camera with a 24–105mm f/4 lens, purchased with support from the Big Bend Rural Initiative for Success in Education (BB-RISE), the Permian Basin Area Fund and The Stillwater Foundation.
School officials said the camera will provide students with hands-on experience using professional-level equipment as mirrorless technology continues to replace traditional DSLRs. Students Judith Frioux and Madalyn Carter, both Adobe Certified Professionals, debuted the new camera this week while photographing the BB-RISE event at Sul Ross State University.
