Two people have been arrested following a theft at a ranch south of Valentine, according to a media release from the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning and were joined by the Presidio County Sheriff’s Office, Culberson County Sheriff’s Office, and Tribal Police in the investigation.
One suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Presidio County Jail. A second was later apprehended in Culberson County and transported to the Culberson County Jail. Felony charges have been filed, authorities said.
The investigation remains active with additional charges pending. The Sheriff’s Office extended thanks to assisting agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Border Patrol.
